By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.22 17:49
I think someone just slammed the out house door really hard!!

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.22 22:42
I don't think slammed so much as firmly closed. Had it been slammed, it would have undoubtedly locked from the inside. For now the door appears to be working.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.23 16:22
I want all of you reprobates to repeat after me " I will play nice"

By kstanage On 2019.01.23 17:31
Well, I guess I was wrong. I really figured as long as nobody put out a differing opinion you guys would be able to keep your soap boxes out permanently. I am actually ashamed of myself, I admit freely I have a really bad case of burn out. I also will take the oath to play nice even though I am not nearly as bad as you reprobates. Oops, already messed up.

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.23 21:47
Hazarding a guess and putting forth a theory does not make you complicit.

Reprobate? I resemble that remark and by definition cannot play nice, but will try.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.24 08:38
I guess you Guy's know that it's my duty as the most prolific member of this forum to keep your literacy levels to the highest standards. I guess what I'm trying to say if you can't dazzle them with your amazing vocabulary " then baffle them with BS.

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.24 10:05
Well, I must say Pat, you are doing an amazing job keeping us baffled.....LOL

By kstanage On 2019.01.24 18:43
I know. Half the time we are not sure what he's talking about.

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.24 22:58
Sometimes I think it's the Irish in him talking, the liquid Irish. One night I got on late to see if any posts, and there were 2 from Pat, exactly the same. By the next day there was only 1 remaining.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.25 08:33
Hey all I actually made a mistake once and then an hour later I found out I was right. You have to cut me a little slack,I still use a knife and fork and I hardly ever wet my pants any more.

By Richard Guhl On 2019.01.25 10:38
Irish? I thought it was Scotch talking.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.25 12:30
Rich I have been known to sample both with great fervor.

By kstanage On 2019.01.25 16:54
I agree that having a good day changes with old age. Now I am happy if I don't have to get out of my pj's all day, if there is enough frozen dinners in the freezer so I don't have to cook. Not to mention serving myself finger food, who needs a fork and a knife?

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.26 16:15
Pat, how much slack do you want? If we give you too much, you might get off leash and wreck havoc.

Kathy has the right idea, sit around in pjs and eat only finger foods.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.27 07:40
I have Type -2 so that's not an option so I guess my evil twin will be lurking in the shadows.

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.27 11:44
See where the Midwest is going to get slammed by another Polar Vortec. Looks like NB could see temps as low as 20 below with wind chills of 40 below. Remember what a short time ago it was when we first heard the term, Polar Vortec, and now it seems almost every other year?

Saw a CNN bit on an Alaskan father and son convicted of shooting a bear and her 2 cubs in their den. They were caught on camera as the bears were part of a study. The father got 3 months jail, $9000.00 fine, forfeiture of boat, truck, firearms and poaching gear along with a 10 year suspension of hunting privileges. The son, who shot the sow, got probation and community service, 2 years suspension and must attend a hunter's safety course. Maybe because he is 18 the probation and community service is appropriate, but I feel he should have received a 10 year suspension also.

By Richard Guhl On 2019.01.27 13:14
The case I loved was the guy who shot 3 moose out of season and got 7 years prison time.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.27 17:13
It could have been worse they could have hung him. Like an old time Arizona cattle rustler.

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.27 18:58
I say bring back the noose and "old sparky".

Probably would have taken him 7 years to eat 3 moose, so fitting punishment.

By Richard Guhl On 2019.01.28 10:05
In each incident, he didn't take all the meat, just a few prime cuts - so he was stupid AND lazy. State issues about 50,000 moose permits per year and, on average, about 8,800 legal hunters are successful.

Saw a video clip of St. Joe on the Weather Channel this morning covered in lake effect snow. Hope the "home team" enjoys!

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.28 19:11
Was he perhaps from Texas? Sounds like the way many hunt here. Get a deer, take out the back straps and remove hind quarters, and let the rest lay. And except for the back straps, use all the hind quarters to make sausage.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.28 19:35
I was watching the Alaska state troopers the other night and they said that over 3000 Moose are killed on their highways every year. I guess much like the Deer in Michigan.

By Richard Guhl On 2019.01.29 10:27
Not only the highways - the railroad gets probably nearly as many.

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.29 21:35
You must have a pretty healthy moose population if 8000+ permits are filled and a loss of 5000 to 6000 to vehicles and trains to issue 50000 permits.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.30 15:44
Hey Mike every things big in Alaska!!!

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.30 22:58
But, big doesn't necessarily mean healthy. I'm big, but does not make me healthy.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.01.31 15:06
At 6 ft and 206 I feel fat up 20 lbs from my working days.My daughter tells me they have problems with Moose will within the city of Anchorage.

By deniedaccess On 2019.01.31 22:50
Ahhhh! 206, to be so tiny again. Got a fat gene that runs in the family that starts affecting males when they reach 40. Can hold off the fat until about age 60, and then it's a lost cause. Been up to 285, but with hard work can get it down to 245-250. Got down to 220 when I had to be hospitalized, but as soon as I started physical therapy, started putting it back on.

By Richard Guhl On 2019.02.01 11:08
The largest concentration of moose per square mile in Alaska is within the city limits of the city and borough of Anchorage.

Mike - your dad wasn't overweight or fat as I remember him.

I'm about an inch and a half shorter today than when I went into the CG @ 6 ft but my weight is still right about 162 lbs.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.01 15:20
Nobody likes a smart a-- Rich. I'm going to be off line for a week or so.My house got broken into yesterday in Michigan and I'm flying up to Ludington in the AM to access the damages ,secure the premises, and get claims started with my insurance carrier. You guy's be nice while I'm gone.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.01 21:31
Rich, as I said, you could hold off the gene until around age 60 and then nothing seems to work. That is why my dad quit working at the marina, got too big to get into the tight spaces to work on boat engines.

Sorry to hear about the break in, hope it was only kids looking for booze and not already drunked up looking to cause damage.

Rich and I will have to be nice without you to instigate things. Enjoy your unwanted taste of Michigan winter.

By kstanage On 2019.02.03 19:03
Talk about crazy weather. For the next 4 or 5 days we are going to be in the high 60's. This is after a few days of temps barely above freezing and 13 degrees as overnight lows. Not really complaining, I welcome a nice taste of spring. No a lot happening here in Tennessee, I tried to get interested in the Super Bowl but I just can't get into it after not watching football for the last few years.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.04 20:53
Almost hit 80 today in Austin. Temps won't get back to seasonal until Thursday or Friday. The rise must be from all the hot air flying from the West to Michigan.

Didn't bother with the Super Bowl either, especially since it should have been the Saints playing. What good is it having a Commissioner if he won't right wrongs?

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.05 10:08
I think I represent that remark, yes it was kind of a crappy game alright. Lots of snow here had forgotten how I really didn't miss it. Be careful as I'll be keeping an eye on you.

By Richard Guhl On 2019.02.05 16:26
Sorry to read of the break-in back in Michigan Pat. I cut, split and put up 5 to 7 cords of firewood each year which solves any potential weight problems.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.05 23:11
Gee, Pat, and here I thought we would have about a week to trash talk without you being able to defend yourself.

So Rich, how many pounds do you think you'll gain now that you have that hydraulic log splitter?

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.07 06:38
Watch out for Mike as I think he might just be a reincarnation of Steve ie no slack.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.07 18:57
Can't be a reincarnation, because older than him, but possession is not out of the question. Or, maybe this is the way I've always been, but was not on enough when he was to make it evident. As I have said before, give you too much slack and you might get off leash.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.08 16:40
Lovely Central Texas weather. 80's Monday and Tuesday, 34 with sleet and snow flurries today. Supposed to dip into the 20's tonight, right on schedule as we typically get most of our freezing rain in February.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.08 17:05
Looking at some really lousy weather here in Ludington suppose to head back Sat,PM hope I can get out of Grand Rapids. Good news not much damage to the house and surprise not much missing ,minimum repairs to secure the house.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.08 20:44
Hope the weather cooperates for your Saturday flight. Glad to hear things were not as bad as they could have been with your house.

By Richard Guhl On 2019.02.09 10:49
Good Luck on your flight(s) Pat. Living in an airport for 24 hours waiting for the weather to improve is one of life's most forgettable experiences!

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.10 16:56
Made my connection in Denver with only ten min. to spare ,glad to be back . I want some one to shoot me if I ever venture North in the winter again. If I had missed the flight last night I would have had a 15 hour lay over and no guarantee of a seat on that flight either.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.10 21:54
Welcome home! Do we have to wait until you travel North in the winter?

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.11 08:06
Hey! I'm an old fart I expect you guy's to keep an eye on me.

By kstanage On 2019.02.11 09:34
JPT and all, I do not want to hear any bellyaching from any of you. I have to prep today for a colonoscopy tomorrow. I am so dreading it, I have two hours before I start the process.

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.11 10:11
Yeah, if they could find a way to make the prep a less urgent situation, a colonoscopy would be a walk in the park while napping.

Pat, have my scope.....er, eye on you, just try making a move in a northerly direction.

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.11 14:19
Isn't the capacity of the bowel really amazing, just when you thought you were done you have to make that one last mad dash.Thought for the day " Once every village had an idiot. It took the internet to bring them all together"

By deniedaccess On 2019.02.11 16:09
I hate when it is up to and including the hour of the exam.

Interesting thought, but you left out twitter!

By Joe Pat Tyron On 2019.02.11 22:55
I don't do twitter or,text,I have enough to keep up with this forum and remember it has to be true because I saw it on the internet!!!
