New Buffalo High School Class of 1966 (40th Reunion)

NBHS Class of 1966 started off its 40th reunion weekend on Friday, July 21, 2006 with an informal gathering at the Stray Dog. The class braved the drizzly weather on the outside upper deck to renew old friendships and share memories. They were surprised by several unexpected guest appearances by other NBHS alums who made the gathering even warmer. We were surprised by Cappy Behner, Diane Pazieski, Jim McNeill, Pat Handley Swan, Dawn Williams, Ed Putzke, Kay Kelderhouse, and Rick Ghareeb.

On Saturday morning the class, plus lots of locals, met at the new high school for a tour. We were shown around by Superintendent Lindley. The class and guests then proceeded to the courtyard to dedicate a tree and plaque to the deceased members of the Class of '66. 13 classmates are deceased from this class. Dave Stromer (with the help of his father, Dick) donated and planted the beautiful tree prior to the dedication.

The big dinner event took place that evening at Hesston Hills. Cocktails, buffet supper and much socializing took place while a PowerPoint presentation and 60's music kept us entertained. Kathy Weigel was responsible for the high tech entertainment. Classmates were presented with a memory book compiled by Marg Putzke, filled with current information and photos provided by classmates.

The weekend ended on Sunday morning with a farewell brunch at Hannah's.
