The New Buffalo School District received just one bid for its old high school-middle school property but apparently the both the price was right.

Dr Lindley, School Superintendent said a Chicago-based developer offered $650,000 for the entire parcel. The buildings and the prime 9.34 acres surrounding them were appraised at $790,000.

He said the school board is working out a few details yet, like how long the school district will be able to keep buses in the garage, which the developer plans to raze.

The developer's proposal includes converting the old high school-middle school building into condominiums with some commercial space reserved for professional offices.
