Terry Covert New Buffalo High School Class of '69
Pastor (yeah no kidding ...church boy) Terry Covert is now living in the small rural community of Cope, Colorado pastoring a Community Church.
After graduation, Terry "knocked around" abit and got married. Although, he was comfortable, there was something missing in his life. Changing directions, he attended Derby School of Theology in Commerce City, Colorado where he earned an undergraduate degree in Theology and Greek language in 1980.
Despite the new found direction, Terry admits it took him a ten years to outgrow his "childhood" enough to lead a congregation. He went back to the "books" and earned a Masters in Counseling from Andersonville Baptist Seminary in 1990. Updated credentials and a revitalized life, Terry relocated to the small town of Cope, east of Denver and not too far from the Kansas-Nebraska border.
In addition to tending his flock in Cope, Terry also has pastorial duties at a Saturday night church in Brighton, Colorado (a suburb of Denver) and teaches seminary classes.
Terry married his New Buffalo High School sweetheart Patt Affeld (Class of '70) in 1972. They have two children, both girls, Rosey 25 who graduated from Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington with a degree in Fine Arts and is now attempting to live the life of an artist with some moderate success and Maggie, age 22. Maggie is married and has a son and a daughter which makes Terry and Patt grandparents.
Terry enjoys keeping in touch with old friends. If you'd like to contact Terry, his e-mail link can be located in the member's search area (Class of '69).
